Parrot Life

Echo The Eclectus
The Eclectus parrot is truly one of a kind. The male as seen here is emerald green. The females are deep red. The eclectus personality including Echo is one of calmness, thoughtfulness and keen observation. It has been said they can "feel" what time it is. When an Eclectus talks, it is crystal clear. They are not frenzied talkers, deliberate and slower. Plus they are very aloof birds and can sometimes just wait till you have left the room to display their excellent talking abilities. Eclectus' live about 30+ years or more in captivity, less in the wild. So be prepared for having a companion for a long time, if you decide an Eclectus is for you.

Blue and Gold Macaw
Goose is a Blue and Gold Macaw. He is a baby at just a year old, and is very cuddly more like a lap dog than a parrot. He loves to explore his toys and perches and absolutely hates the vacuum cleaner. Blue and Gold's come from Northern and Central South America. They are known for their friendly and social nature. They are talkative and quite loud. Many mimic words and sounds, but they are hilarious in their physical activities. Goose's species of Macaw has been called the Golden Retriever of the bird world, and he definitely lives up to it. Blue and Gold Macaw's can live 50+ years in captivity.

Loki The Caique
Loki is a Caique from South America. He is a small parrot very playful and energetic. Caiques are often called "clowns of the parrot world". They are very affectionate with their owners, but you kind often notice they want to explore on their own. They are not overly needy and can be quite independent. Sometimes their inquisitiveness gets them into trouble. Caiques are not known as talkers. Loki will wolf whistle and he trys to best Echo whistling the Imperial March, but talking is not something Caiques are known for. With proper care Caiques can live 25-30+ years in captivity. They are spunky little birds.
